What’s a good speaking pace?
Most comfortable, easy-to-follow speech lands between 120 and 150 words per minute. Podcast hosts and audiobook narrators often sit around 150–160; auctioneers and fast talkers push past 200. For a presentation, interview, or toast, aim for the conversational middle — fast enough to keep energy, slow enough that every word is clear.
